Full Moon Late Autumn Wedding

Adi and Saar were married at the Full Moon Resort, in Oliveria, NY, on a day in late November. I love the look of a forest when the leaves are off the trees, and so did this couple. They wanted lots of outside portraits, and braved the chill to get them. They also had carved pumpkins with family guests that morning and wanted those documented. It wasn’t a large wedding, and the dance party in the renovated barn was great, with a terrific DJ and light show.

October Wedding at The Garrison

Larissa & Mike were married at The Garrison, NY, on a beautifully warm day in October. The ceremony was at Church of St. Mary in Cold Spring, planning & flowers were by NY Engagements, and the reception was at the always-lovely Garrison.

Wedding at The Garrison

Jen & Tom were married at The Garrison in New York’s Hudson Valley on a gorgeous late-summer day in September. The Garrison is one of my favorite locations: The designs of the rooms and grounds are such that the Hudson River and rolling hills are always in view, whether inside or out. And event manager Todd Smith and his staff make sure everything flows as smoothly as can be.

Jen was so caught up in the ceremony, she later admitted she didn't even notice the flowers framing her & Tom

Full Moon Resort in July

Emily & Matt were married at the Full Moon Resort in July, 2011. One great thing about getting married at Full Moon is guests have the opportunity to reserve the entire place – cabins, music venue, bonfire, fresh water pool, grounds, etc – for a whole weekend, if they like. The day before the wedding, Emily saw this short bus driving by. She flagged it down & hired the driver to take her and her bridesmaids to the ceremony site. Quite an entrance.

Mohonk Pavilion Wedding

Caroline & Jonathan were married in a clearing in the woods, just down the road from the Mohonk Mountain House, in June 2011. It’s a magical little spot I don’t think too many people know about, with bird nests in the rafters of the wooden pavilion, fields of long grasses, and million dollar views.

Full Moon Resort Wedding

Patrick and Jennifer were married at the Full Moon Resort in the Catskills in July. Prior to the wedding they spent months creating personal touches for the day: they hand-painted signs, found antique cake & pie platters, and they even had a signature drink. There was much beauty in the details.

Montgomery Place, NY Wedding

Shawna & Michael were married at Montgomery Place, Annandale-on-Hudson, New York. They had told me they like to dance – but wow – so does everyone they know. The dance floor did not stop until the band shut down. Shawna & Michael asked me to focus on getting pictures of the party (they knew it would be wild) plus formal shots in the stunning formal garden. This couple had fun on their wedding day.

Cat Rock Wedding in June

Ramy told me it would be fun: An Egyptian zaffa band (complete with drummers and two belly dancers) introduced Ramy & Mia as a married couple and the guests leaped from their seats to join them. Dancing on the lawn was followed by dancing under the tent, and one of Hank’s famous bonfires finished out the night.

Cat Rock Wedding in June

Anna and Adam were married at Cat Rock on June 6. It was a beautiful day, then it was windy, then there was an unprecedented tornado warning. The rain came hard and fast and guests ran across the lawn from the ceremony site back to the castle. Hank Osborn and his crew sealed up the tent walls. Then, as quickly as it came, the storm passed. Hank rolled out a long carpet so the bottom of Anna’s dress would stay dry, and the ceremony proceeded as planned. Perhaps because of the near miss, spirits were extremely high. By early evening guests were dancing barefoot all across the lawn.
